I am both a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a practicing barrister in Hong Kong. I am also a fellow member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Prior to commencing his full practice as barrister, he has been working in the building and construction industry in the positions of contract consultant and quantity surveyor for about 18 years. Because of this background, I have obtained considerable experience and substantive know-how relating to construction contracts administration, procurement matters, contractual claims, project management, expert witness report and quantity surveying in various infrastructure and building construction projects in Hong Kong. He has also involved in numerous overseas projects in China, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Liberia, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Guyana, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Cambodia and Nauru.
After commencing his legal practice in 2004 and practices in both civil and criminal litigation, I have been handling mainly construction and commercial litigation as well as arbitration proceedings acting as mediator, advocate and arbitrator. He has also involved in advising lay clients on various legal and contractual matters as well as acting advocates in different stages and kinds of legal and arbitration proceedings. I have been appointed as part-time lecturer at City University of Hong Kong for Arbitration Practice and Award Writing from 2014 to 2021 respectively.
As to my credentials in alternative dispute resolution, I have been awarded with the Master of Arts in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution by City University of Hong Kong in 2003 and my degree dissertation subject was titled "Mandatory Adjudication in the United Kingdom and other common law jurisdictions" and for this reason I am familiar with the statutory adjudication regime in various common jurisdictions including the related news laws recently adopted in Hong Kong.
