Chartered Institution of CIVIL ENGINEERING SURVEYORS


Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) for the Royal Institution of Chartered professional organisations, established in 1969 and headquartered in the United Kingdom, is a non-profit nature, internationally renowned civil engineering and project management institute, providing a measure of the global industry engaged in the civil engineering division of the various international professional standards, education and training for civil engineering industries, enjoy high reputation in the international community.

Since its conception, CICES has gone from strength to strength with an ever-increasing membership and is now a registered educational charity promoting the profession worldwide. In 1992, CICES became the first associated institution of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and together formed two joint boards to provide and disseminate surveying knowledge and expertise; the Geospatial Engineering Board and Commercial Management Board. CICES also has reciprocal membership agreements in place with the ICE.

In 2015, Engineering Council approved allowing CICES members to apply for professional registration. Members will be able to apply for the grades of Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Engineering Technician (EngTech). This could assist career advancement and provide a passport to opportunities worldwide where ‘Chartered Engineer’ is well recognised and understood. In 2018, we started to accept Chartered Engineer Registration in Hong Kong and thus added value to CICES Membership.

Each grade of membership is designed to recognise the skills and knowledge of those studying or employed in the civil engineering surveying industry. All members are expected to make a commitment to lifelong learning.
