Ir Dr Leo K K LEUNG will discuss Earthquake Engineering, focusing on its fundamentals and theories. He will explain why a newly constructed tower in Bangkok, nearly 1,000 km from the epicentre of a recent 7.7 to 7.9 magnitude earthquake, collapsed despite common sense suggesting minimal impact.
